Oil pan is structural. The mains are the bolted to the pan. Looks like that engineer took a page out of the early hemi top fuel books. Most of stock pan replaced with big ass skirt that bolted into the mains. Bottom of pan was just a tin piece.

the oil pan is plastic.

The aluminum frame around the bottom end is just that a frame to stiffen up the bottom end.  Well...  Its not doing its job.  Spinning #2 mains left and right (never a rod bearing).  I could go into why this is happening and how folks around here think it can be fixed, but id write a freak "gone with the wind size book." telling them they are idiots!  A single 6mm fastener from the aluminum frame to the main cap is not holding shit.

picture this..

take a pen or pencil.. with your hand use your fingers and pinch the center of the pen or pencil. Have somebody grab both ends of the pencil or pen with their fingers, (they dont need to get crazy but just move the pencil up down left right round and round) your fingers in the center are not holding crap... same thing happen with this engine.
