OEM Front Sump 5qt Oil Pan with 4.500 stroke

Has anyone ever used this pan, with anything other than a stock type build? I have a 73' Torino and want to use a 547, that I have available. This pan will fit the car with no issues but the pan has no baffling inside. Am I just asking for issues here? Engine is .040 4.500, 9.0:1 compression, restricted (bushed) pass side lifter bores, smallish flat tappet solid camshaft. Heads are 325cc TFS streets, trans is C6. This a 100% street car, with original 2.75.1 rear gears.

It should be fairly easy to make a sheetmetal baffle & weld it in at the rear edge of the sump to help stop oil from climbing out of the back of the sump under acceleration.

This is very similar to what a production Cobra Jet pan had - along with being just 5/16" deeper.
I think a Lincoln regular 460 engine also used this pan but, I forgot the original part number.

There are several aftermarket front sump pans that will fit that chassis. Yes, a factory front sump will work, but it will be lacking oil control. At the least, a Canton windage screen should be considered.

I typically use the canton front sump pans either street / strip or road race.

Milodon has a stock replacement type pan that is baffled just as a factory CJ pan is.

With RPM and a 4.5" stroke you will have some windage issues. Consider a better pan with a tray or screen.
