foot braker ? Empty foot braker ?

Post  79must January 18th 2010, 9:43 pm

I want to slow my cars reaction more and already have tall frt tires and a too loose of a conv. I still have stock frt struts wich give very little rise. And was also considering changing from a 373 to a 355 gears. will the gear change or adj struts make a noticable change in the cars reaction.Any suggestions from some fellow footbrakers.Thanx Jeff

Bigger carburetor = lazy response....... Very Happy
Also, play with the timing curve on your distributor, put some heavier springs in it...

How much are you trying to slow your r/t?

x2

- I assume you're already leaving on the bottom bulb.
- You say your convertor is loose, what does it flash at and what RPM are you leaving at, have you tried both lower and higher "leave" RPM's. I've found by leaving harder on some convertors it will actually slow down the convertor flash and the reaction.
- How about just staging shallow if you aren't already

Good luck dude

Convertor flashes around 5500 and im leaving off idle.I want to slow about .050 so i can load the conv a little.Staging shallow.Off idle is close but not very consistant week to week.Im curious if the sv1 would help or hurt what i want.Thanx

Taller front tires have more rollout, that slows down reaction.
