Mini Starter and OIl Pan Question

Post  Tore on January 26th 2010, 7:10 am

I have a Moroso 20616 pan and I was wondering if anyone knows if the Summit HI-Torque Starter will fit? Or what anybody else has used that will fit because a factory style starter wont.

Thanks Tore

Do what you want, however just a FYI. Every BB Ford engine built down here by the Kentucky Krew in the last 10 years or so, has had a factory Ford starter for the 1995 460 3/4 ton truck with an automatic, and to the best of my knowledge we have had no starter failures! Lem/Shawn know the part #, I don't. Also, it's a mini starter and he has them in stock.

Hope this helps,
Charlie

I always get the Ebay deal for most of my customers. Go to Ebay and search for DB Electrical. I think they are like $49.00 or something and work great.

Moroso pan

Post  Rvesterby on July 18th 2010, 12:28 am

I am curious - Moroso says that the Big 20616 pan is "Compatable" with the 184 tooth wheel and Tilton starter - It doesnt say "Required" any comments

Also the Kentuckey Krew aways uses a Ford 95 460 Mini Starter for an automaic- so assume that is with a conventionial 164 tooth flexplate ?? Can that be clarified ?? I would be curious if any of their motors used the Moroso 20616 pan ??

Did Ford ever use a 184 tooth flexplate on a 429/460 or just on the later FEs ??

Thanks
