Remote Water Pump Opinions

Post  jmayabb on February 4th 2010, 12:35 pm

We have started putting together the 3.7 mercruiser build. It has 6.800 GRP rods, Diamond pistons, SCJ head, etc. It will have to have an inline or remote electric water pump. Do you guys think this pump would work? If not, what are some suggestions?

I don't know what the GPM is on the Ford unit but Meziere makes a 20GPM one for about the same money that is intended for engine cooling that is about the same price. We have used the remote 35 GPM units and had no problems what so ever.

Good luck with the project, are there any pics or build info on the engine ?

I will have some pictures soon. It is 245 cubic inches and will run on alcohol. We are hoping for 325-350 hp. The car has to weigh 2000 lbs and will have a Bert transmission.

Not yet. I will try to get some phtos this weekend. I am very anxious to hear/see it run. It's toughest competition are the Eslinger 2.3 motors. Most of those are stroked to 2.5 so this is a mountain motor 4 cylinder being around a 4.0.
