70 mustang 9 inch into a 73 mustang body

Post  Maddmattmustangs on Fri 23 Apr - 11:10

does anybody know if the 70 mustang 9in would be a direct bolt in for my 73? I know there slightly narrower and thats fine (more room for tires Laughing ) I was just wondering if the spring pearches were the same distance apart?

Seeing as how my 8.8 is toast im trying to consider my options Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad pale

I'm pretty sure that they are both right at 43 inches so you should be fine. I can't remember exactly but 43" seems right. Maybe others will chime in.

You should be Ok with the perch width. If you have both handy just measure them...

Yes it will fit. The 73 is 2" wider. 1" on each side, but the spring perches are in the same location. I did the same swap in the opposite direction. Put a 73 rear in a 69 Mustang. I also went with a set of wheels that had an extra inch of backspacing that put the tires back in the same location as the narrower 69 rear.
