Flex Plate bolts

Post  hirock on Tue May 11, 2010 10:29 am

460 C6 went to check torque converter to flexplate before installing in trans. and the flex plate bolts are hitting the coverter body and not letting converter mounting feet to mate to flexplate its holding it off less than a 1/4 inch. If I use arp flexplate bolts which I have been told are not as thick and they still hold me off a little can I use a shim to make up difference as long as I have my correct movement

I wouldn't see why not...as long as the converter can still come forward 1/8" before it touches the shims.
