swapping heavy duty truck trans

Post  mugzilla on Wed May 19, 2010 2:51 pm

I have a 83 Ford Fleetwood Motorhome 460/c6 with a problem trans. I found an '88 F350 460 with an overdrive c6 . I like the upgrade but will it just bolt in ?

Greg P did a swap in his Torino, I don't think it was to difficult other than cutting up the trans tunnel as the OD trans is very large, but that maynot be a big deal in a motor home.

Probably just a drive shaft shortening, yoke, trans mount, harness/ computer to control the trans, flex plate change? And adapting shift linkage. Should require anything super hard, do a search on gregs installation.
