2004 Ford Freestar 3.8

This thing is stumping me. Wife drives it and it dies for no reason. No check engine light or code. I did some research and found the Power Control Module goes bad on these.

Any of you have info on this problem?

our 03 dodge junk a van did the same thing...only 1000 to fix it...the gages will jump around..radio will do weird stuff..etc..and it will kill the motor and not start..or it may start again..

Ok, I called ford and they told me they have not sold a PCM computer for over a year. The van has a chirping noise coming from around the alt or water pump until it warms up.
Has anyone heard of a bad alt causing the eng to stall with no messages?

or if its to high --- 16 plus volts .... ive seen high voltage do some strange stuff in these ecu cars

"I just had the exact same symptoms on my 04 Merc Monterey with the 4.2. Took it to local Ford dealer and they isolated it to the cam synchronizer/sensor assembly. The parts run about $280 and was told it takes a special tool to position and align it."

Any of you run into this? Is this hard to change?
