Not sure if ive posted this in the right spot or not, but here goes. Ive been talking to a couple of other members, and even posted something on the other 460 site. I have a 2000 v6 mustang that I am wanting to put a 460 in. From what I understand its should be just like a standard old school fox body swap, which wont be a problem. My concern is the k member. I have heard that I will have to swap to a 94-95 5.0 k member because my car is a v6 and then proceed to a regular fox body swap. Is this right, because if I have to swap k members than I might as well go tubular and get a really nice one. Thanks in advance.

IMO .... i would get an aftermarket k-member reguardless .... room, weight, etc..... Wink

I dont want to buy a k member if i dont have to. I have to take the wife to mexico and belize for vacation in a few weeks, and of course that overules the go-fast stuff Sad

So my budget has been cut pretty good. I do see were your coming from though as far as weight savings and it would probably make the swap easier, but I would like to do it without one if possible. Thanks

would have to be a big egg.......it sure will be a big difference going from double digit horsepower to a bbf, maybe i can put one of those real tall spoilers on the back and 2 big fart can mufflers on it to keep the power down to managable levels lol!

Ease over to Depot street, there are plenty of that type car sitting around you could get and insall a BBF in it.

its got 175k on it and its a non locker w/3.27 gears so we will see how many minutes it lasts Laughing

for scientific purposes of course.

if i had to take my wife to mexico for vacation i'd kick her ass out when i got there and come home to a new and improved go-fast budget. Laughing

I hate cars, especially fast ones. I have been researching this k member deal and I have seen pics of engine bays that have the tubular k member and they look like you could put a damn v10 in there. So I have made my mind up to get a tubular k member. Well I start looking at k members and then I see how awesome it would be to do a coilover conversion onthe front while im swapping k members. It always starts this way, simple motor swap turns into a major undertaking. Any opinions on which k member to get and is the coilover conversion worth it. This will be 99% street and 1% track, it will also be my daily driver.
