deck side V intake side

what is the ratio for cutting the intake side of a head to correct for cutting chamber side?

Let me go check though just to make sure.

if you are only going .030 don't worry....

if you go .040 or over you take off half of what you take from the head surface

My bad, I was thinking for an olds. The book I have says for a 0 degree (big block ford) head the amount removed at the deck X 1.0 = amount to be removed at the intake side.

Then it says the amount removed at the deck X 1.4 = amount to be removed at the bottom of the intake manifold (if necessary).

But listen to Randy, he's more experienced than me.

so if i take .050 off deck side, then .025 off intake side.it also appears at some point i-manifold holes will have to be slotted?i had
forgotten how much went into custom engine assembly.really is rewarding though.
