do i have room ....

to change these springs , while the heads are on the motor ? just curious before i find one of those LSM tools

Nick you should have room you have more than me on the back of the engine.my back 4 springs is under the cab it was a pain in the rear but I got the inner springs put in with some skinned up hands.

I see....I saw the rockers were off. The checkers i've used need the rockers on.

just retorquing the heads.... but i didnt realize the rockers needed to be on for that procedure

Do you have a engine plate in your car,if you do does your engine sit further forward than the swap mounts set up.I have changed mine with the swap mount motor mounts it's close back there by the firewall on the drivers side by where the brake lines run but can be done.It's a lot nicer to have some help with the spring compressor and wrestling with the valve locks.

the tool i used for that job screwed on the stud and had a long bar on it that you pushed back and it would lock in place.i dont know what brand it was but it worked good for me at the time,stock frontend 69 mustang.i made one out of a steel rocker arm one time,cut the center tip out and spread it a little and welded a piece of square tube on the other end.it worked good for stock type stuff but i'd say somebody could get hurt with it on your kinda springs. i took my "green stripe"springs off the a heads last week,it was not fun.
