head gaskets
i'm goen back together with my old motor and need a .050 copper gasket on it.i noticed my old .042's were leaking a little water in a few places before so i thought i'd ask what you all use.i spray them with copper coat on both sides and did'nt notice any leaks until i pulled the heads.thanks

You can fill the groove with a copper wire, and yes the Cometics can be reused.
Lem's the man to get with on the Cometics btw..............

Re: head gaskets
Sorry to jump onto the post , but whilst people are talking head gaskets , I am at a loss on what to use on mine .
C and C aluminium block , Boss heads , 14.5:1 compression 572 , alcohol. No nitrous or blowers.
Kaase says Cometic's , some say O-Ring and copper , some say SCE Titans and some say the good old felpro 1028's?
1028's are obviously the cheapest . Will they work or has someone had bad experiences with them?

Kaase knows what he's talking about. The cometic (MLS) multi layer steel stuff is definetly much simpler than o-rings.

un less someone shows up with a block already o ringed and can not aford to deck it i use fel pro, no problems, on on my hemis, and others wedge etc, 14 to 16.to 1
1028 is a good gasket, .042, and a 1099 .051 is better for a larger bore
the last 2 15.5 to one engines receved 1028's, go lean and i dont care what gasket you have t will hurt it
