REAL Southern BBQ Empty REAL Southern BBQ

Does anyone have a recipe and instructions for making southern BBQ?

Years ago I was down around Jackson TN for business and they asked, "You ever had BBQ?" I said sure, we BBQ burgers all the time!! They introduced me to the real BBQ and man was it good!!

Real BBQ takes alot of time on the smoker. Take a 5-6lb boston butt, google for a good rub, throw it on the smoker for about 2-3hrs, then take it off wrap it in tin foil and throw it on again for another 2-3hrs. I usually inject them with apple juice before I wrap them in tin foil and put them back on the smoker. You need to keep the smoker at about 250-275 degrees the whole time. If you dont have a smoker or dont want to spend all day sitting around the smoker watching the temp and keeping it right, then there is another way thats pretty good too. Take the butt and stick it in the crock pot on low. Cover it in garlic powder, black pepper, and seasoning salt. Pour 1 bottle of beer over it and let it cook on low for about 8-9 hours, and its pretty good that way too. I usually put it on before I leave for work in the morning and by the time I get home in the evening its ready. Then just take it out of the crock pot, and pull the meat, and your ready to go!!!

I will tell you their are alot of different "Southern" BBQ.......

North Carolina, Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, Memphis, Texas, Ect. Thay are all different and They all have different flavor.

BBQ is an event here too. We BBQ all sorts of stuff, I guess some of y'all call it grillin'. Cool
