This is kind of a stupid thing but it bugs me everytime I put gas in it. I have a Harwood plastic cell with the 6 bolt red plastic lid cap. After I flip up the lever I have a hell of a time trying to get the cap off.Does anyone else have this problem? And how did you fix it.

Never had any problems with the Harwood, or the Jaz fuel cells. The RCI fuel cells are another story though, lower quality IMO.

The one in my T-bucket does the same thing. I took the cap off and ground down the tabs a bit.

The bolts that secure the retainig rings to the cell may be too tight or they may have been tightened up with the rings out of line.Loosen the bolts and see if it helps they don't have to be monster tight just good and snug to form a seal.If that doesn't help you will have to touch up the edges.

Thanks I have heard horror stories about the RCI cells. Most of them have the tops sucked down.I will try to loosen the bolts a little and touch up the edges on the cap too. I'll let you know if it helps thanks for the tips.

Man I never realized these caps where such a pain in the ass!. Guess its just one of them things that isnt that big of a deal just a pain,so nobody really mentions it.Anyone have one of those JAZ replacement caps with the screw on cap. They are Alum.Kind of pricey though.
