NEED HELP ASAP PLZ
I just got through getting my transmission built and ordered me a new ptc torque converter.
Strarted to put engine and tranny back in trying to make my first race next saturday.
So I checked my converter to the flywheel and there was a 1/4'' gap from converter to the flywheel.
So I started measuring everthing the scat 4.5'' cast crank reads both sizes 1.375 and 1.850, but the converter wont slide all the way in so I checked the converter the small part is 1.375 and the big part of it measures 1.950. So it wont fit and ptc is closed is there anyway to fix it so I can race next weekend ( I work out of town all next week so today and tomorrow is my last days)
Thanks for any help!!!

Re: NEED HELP ASAP PLZ
The only time I have had a somewhat similar problem was during a motor swap. There was a bronze bushing in the crank tailpiece that was for a manual transission that was in use where the motor came from. If my memory serves me correctly, I had to remove it to get it to mate up properly. It does not sound like that is your problem, but thought I would still offer the info. Good luck, hope you get it fixed in time to go kick some butt next weekend.

it will have to be turned down .010 or so it seems. if someone up your way has a lathe they could fix you up.

they should have built the converter right to start with. if you get the conveter spining true in the lathe you will not hurt a thing.

Don't tell them, and turning it down won't have any effect on its operation.

Gald to hear! It's a shame they couldn't get it right from the start, but at least you got it fixed!
