Declared Index Racing @ US60 Hardinsburg Kentucky in 2011

Post  83-88T-Bird Guy on January 1st 2011, 6:51 pm

** There are 6 scheduled Declared Index Races this year @ US60.

** Every 3rd Sat. night of the month starting in April.

** 35 index classes spaced every .2 seconds apart.

** As always, race entry is FREE with the purchase of a $ 15.00 card at the gate.

** Racers with slicks must purchase a $ 15.00 Test-N-Tune card at the gate.

** DOT tire racers are eligible to run 4 races these nights for a total of only $ 15.00 @ the gate.

--I am currently working on an idea for a "Pitch-In" deal whereas racers who want to gamble, can pitch in , say $ 20.00 each and the pitch-in driver that progresses the furtherest into eliminations would win ALL of the pitch-in money.

If say, 36 drivers enter the index race and 16 want to pitch-in $ 20 each, then the driver who goes the furtherest gets all $ 320.

In the event of a tie...the P-I driver with the best reaction time would win.

There is no guarantee as to how many racers will pitch in at each race.

The -P-I deal would be strickly voluntary and is designed for racers that want to win more cash than the posted "$ 100.00 to win" amount.

Details to follow.....

Rules on US 60 board say no, I believe. We had a 6.50 index race at Bluegrass at the end of the year. It was a LOT of fun leaving off pro tree. We used .500 pre tree and didn't care about boxes. I had to run about .030 to be green. I plan on hitting the index races at US 60,Valley ,and Bluegrass if they follow through with it. There was some talk of Beech Bend running some index races on Saturday nights as well.

No delay boxes or down-track activated throttle stops.

Transbrakes and slicks allowed. Very Happy

Ha Ha...yeah, but in bracket racing you can change your dial between rounds.

It was designed to allow people who do not have 6.50 or 7.50 cars the chance to experience running an entire race on a fixed index.

To me this doesnt make alot of since have four or five index classes and drivers can either find ways to speed their car up or slow it down a little to meet those indexes

yeah, I understand. In most cases, I can dial the same number all day long and if you're not holding, your win per round ratio will not be very high. Alcohol doesn't move much. You must have a very large car count to have 35 classes though. Looks like a payday for everyone. cheers

I agree that the classes are bunched up too close imo. I think 1/2 sec. intervals would be better.Like Unleashed deal.jmo

It's just one pay day ,they all run together with a spot for the index. It's a bracket race for street cars. I'm not taking my delay box out to run for $100 .......You guys gotta understand that this is a real small track with a bunch of good ole country boys racing there , and saturday night is just mainly a TNT . No tech ,they never even look at your car..no belt check or anything. You can run a 4 second car in your underwear if you so desire without a helmet lol! king

Thanks Dan for explaining.

This race format was designed to give alot of the reg. DOT racers on Sat. night the chance to experience what running on a fixed time is like....without the need for a trans brake and other 4 tenths pro tree related equipment.

We have noticed quite a few TnT racers with slicks show up on Sat. night, so that's why this is the only Sat. race where slicks are allowed.
Nobody has to run the Index Race. It's free if they want to...
