Moroso Stud mount one is pretty damn nice, Proform makes a cheaper version of it, but it need some work / modification to keep up with big roller springs.

Brad at Buxton Engineering makes some beautiful valve spring tools. Probably the nicest I have seen. Check him out at www.buxtonengineering.com

The Buxton stuff is damn nice, but they aren't inexpensive.

LSM is my favorite.
I also have a Moroso that works well with stud mount systems.

Great post mitch,
I have been thinking about valve spring compressors also.
Does anyone have any experiance with the Summit brand compressor? It looks like a copy of the Moroso and Proform ones.
I like the looks of the high end stuff Like LSM, but I can't see buying one for use once every 3 or 4 years.
Just need something that's going to work and not be a total POS.
mike

Oh ya not sure which type mitch is looking for but I need one for on engine spring changes.

The summit one is a Proform, need some work to the foot to make it useable with heavy springs. It will just bend with anything over a decent performance Flat tapped spring.

Thanks Dave
I have some Comp 930 springs I need to install.
Gonna give the summit/proform deal a try I guess.

Here's the spring compressor I made a few years back.
It needs tweeked on a bit so 3 hands aren't needed to use Rolling Eyes .
Probably should just fix and use what I have.

I have the Buxton on head compressor and a Moroso that I adapted to use on shaft rocker stands also. Both have their own purpose. I use the Moroso back at the firewall where I need room to get the spring compressed. On a stock front end car with inner fenders and roll bar tubing the Moroso definatley has its place for me and the handle can be rotated to pull away from the firewall and master cylinder. If I had a chassis car, and removable front end or a dragster the only one I would have would be the Buxton.

JMO and I really don't care what anyone else thinks ............ Laughing

If you get the pro form, you can heat it the foot to a dull red and then quench it in used engine oil and it won't bend............... Cool
