Cost to complete bare SCJs.

I recently dropped my A460 heads off at a local machine shop to get some rocker stud threads repaired. While I was there he told me he has a set of bare SCJs he got for a customer that wants to go another route now. He told me if he cant talk him into using them he will give me 1st chance at them. I told him I'd think about it.

My question is what roughly would it cost to equip them to use them with a mild roller cam, I guess like the SCJBs? Nothing radical. I hate to admit this but I was considering using a particular brand of imported heads to build a warmed up 466 to use until I got the A head engine done. (Then keep the small engine as a spare).

Ball Park figures Lem????

I am not sure about today but, the bare SCJ's from FRPP used to come with only semi-finished valve guides which needed to be sized.

Thank you Lem. I will keep those in mind if he gives me a price on them. I was going to go the other route because I have pistons with standard valve layout, but I wouldn't mind cutting new valve notches in them.

You'll need valve stem seals also.

For the ones like the SCJBs have..........correct.
