Question for you mustang guys... Empty Question for you mustang guys...

Post  dirt_worker February 13th 2011, 8:55 pm

Im putting a strut front setup on my f100 and bought the complete front suspension/brake setup off an 04 mustang. I wanna use 4" wide centerline convo pro front wheels.
My question is this:
A part of the caliper sticks out close to the mounting flange for the wheel. How do ya'll put skinnies on the 94-04 mustangs? does it require a spacer of somekind?
Should be a cool setup when im done. It'll be made up of the 04 mustang spindles and brakes, fox adj strut w. coilover conversion, tubular fox lower control arms and a mustang II rack.
Hoping to lose 200-300lbs off the front. Laughing
Thanks,
mike

i had to use 98 gt calipers and a 1/4 spacer. I am however getting a set of 99 calipers back (i had cobra brakes on it when i got my skinnies)

i was told 1/4 spacer is still enough though if that helps

Exactly, they "should" The 98 gt calipers fit, but they are single piston, the dual piston calipers of the 99-04 are a bigger caliper. not sure if the cooling fins will clear the wheel, but you can grind them down a bit
