Piston Out of the Hole - Pros/Cons
What are the pros/cons of the piston being .050 out of the hole requiring a gasket of ~.100? Will the Cosmetic MLS gasket hold with 14.5 Compression and an occasional 150 HP shot? This is a drag racing application, 4.560 bore, using A460 heads.
Thanks,
Thanks,

I've run um out of the hole 0.020 or so, but this was to clean up a deck that was torched between two cyls one time. I used a .065 or so Cometic gasket and it worked fine. That said .050 is a quite a bit, I wouldn't do it if i had to lol.

Not the best situation but i'll work if you don't get greedy with spray.........it puts the top ring too close to the deck for a lot of extra heat.

Thanks Lem,
I that case, think I'll stick with the shorter (6.7) rods.

That would be a good idea imo
