fuel cell foam?

Post  cool40 on April 13th 2011, 10:07 pm

i just took the cap and ring out of my cell so i could put some bulkhead fittings in for return lines and found my foam in bad shape.it just went to hell when i took it out.it was also in the filter i had run with the toilet system.i never had this problem before, with gas.does alky eat the foam?its a tall prostock cell and i'm thinken it would work without any foam. confused

we don't run the foam either but then again we run aluminum fuel cells that do not come with it. How bad Q16 smells I would rather not chance putting it in the foam. It might be fine but I don't know. We keep our cell fuel anyway so the sloshing is kept to a minimum.

I could see it helping slosh on a bigger cell in a street car, for the smaller cells that are run full in a drag application its of no benefit.
