I have .0015 clearance on rods & mains measuring with plasti-gauge. I know its not a very acurate way of measuring but its all i have. The rods are .020 under & mains are .010 under. The engine is a low budget bracket motor & will only see about 6200 rpm at the most. Will that be enough clearance or should i order different bearings they are king race bearings?

Being they are .020 under, I'm not sure you can get x brg's for it. But .0015 is to tight.

Should i have the crank polished down a little or what is the easiest fix?

Before I would polish the crank, I'd have everything measured with something besides plasti-gauge. Then you will know for sure what route to take. Polishing is certainly an option if needed.

Plasti Gage is not the best way to gage clearance BUT, it will give you an indication if a problem is lurking. It's a good chance that they are a little tight. Good Luck Brother Smile

one way of getting some extra clearance (polished) bring a rod/bearing/s to the machine shop and have them measure the cl . was the rods resized ? if so might have big end to small. see that a lot , don't let them cool and reading is inaccurate
