 460 Industrial block Empty 460 Industrial block

Got a buddy that says he has an industrial block that's from the factory a 472ci. He says it now stroked to a 585ci. I only know of the d9te. 585ci want come out of there, would it?

Never heard of a 460 Industrial-specific block. In fact, on any given year that they were both produced the 429/460 used the same engine block casting pattern...so a "460 Industrial block" is a bit hard to swallow.

In rare circumstances, 585 cubes might be possible from a D9TE block but it's not necessarily possible with every block unless the blocks are filled solid and a few other things. Concidentally, I have put together the parts for a 585 cubic inch stroker for an OEM passenger car block.

The most recent commercial/industrial large cube gasoline engine I can think of that was offered by Ford is the 534 which was found in buses and such. Produced somewhere around ~1959 thru 1981 with almost no major changes whatsoever, the Ford 534 Industrial is not part of the 385 Series engine family.
