Tightening a converter with Hy-gard? Empty Tightening a converter with Hy-gard?

Finally got my new motor done and to the track. Motor is an absolute beast!! Getting this thing down the track may be a challenge....anyways, converter seems too loose to me. Goes 6200 wide open on the brake. I haven't been able to make a clean pass yet so I don't know the drop back on the shift yet. As I work out the chassis woes I'd like to calm the covterter down a bit without having to pull it right now.

How much should I expect it to slow it down? Should I just cut it 50/50 or do a complete change? Is the JD stuff at like Oreilly's the stuff to use or something else? Thanks Brian!!

it will make a 200 rpm change at best, if its way loose it wont help much.

Yes it's an 8" converter. It was originally built for my 501 and went 5300 behind it. New motor is a 557 and makes a crap ton more power. I'd like to see it at about 5500 behind this motor. At 6200 it's uncontrollable on the start line......
