If you can't get one more then the quickest qualifier ( I would make this an average of their qualifying passes not one single pass) should get the bye and be in the money if it is still paying back 8 spots. This seems like the fairest way to do it in my opinion. Fastest mph in qualifying should get a prize too if you can wrangle something up.

It's your show just figured I would throw out my thoughts.

I have been to races where they are allowed to make 3 qualifying passes and then throw out the worst one and average the other two.

I have as well Randy, not a bad way of doing it.

If we were bracket racing I'd say yes, heads up stuff should always be #1 qualifier, and it's shouldn't matter what you averaged it should be the guy with the fastest lap is the #1 qualifier whether he makes 1 pass or ten qualifying passes the fastest one is the one that counts. There's times I only make one hit during qualifying if it's good I let it ride.

I can talk to Terry Edwards and see if he wants to run with you guys if you would like . He has a naturally aspirated small block chassis mustang .
