472" build with A429's
Here is what I’m building for 2014. My block is at the machine shop for boring and my rotating assembly is getting balanced as well. You will notice I didn’t list the cam yet, I ordered a custom solid flat tappet cam and lifters from Scotty J and I haven’t received it yet. That's it for now. I hope to be on the dyno in 2-3 weeks. Expecting to see 600-625HP and maybe a 9.? time slip if my weight calculations are right and she hook's up.
460 D1VE block, bored .060", decked by previous owner (unsure of exactly how much yet) 472" CID
2YABC crank with King bearings
Eagle H-beams
Carl’s custom dual flycut forged Probe pistons (P51 or SCJ) 15cc dish
Speed Pro rings
Dave Freelander’s A429 heads from the “Cheapskate” build in this section
(391/200cfm and cut to 62cc)
PRW stainless 1.73 roller rockers and stud girdles
Comp and Manley pushrods
Motorsport “victor” intake re-drilled for a 1050, not ported at this point
1050 dominator carb
14 x 4" air cleaner with K/N xtreme top.
MSD dizzy and 6AL
PRW electric water pump
Canton 6qt street/strip pan for a fox body
Melling HV oil pump and ARP pump shaft.
Hooker super comp LT headers, 2" primaries with 3.5" collectors

I hope so, anything north of 600 and running when it leaves the dyno is fine with me.

I'm not sure, I haven't booked it yet as my stuff just made it to the machine shop last Thursday morning. Right now your about about a week from the day you call until your turn in the torture room. My best friend just had his 347 up there last Tuesday that I put together for him. 95 Mustang street car, it made 447HP at 6200 and 406ftlbs at 4700. As for the cam D_W, it can't be any worse than the old 292 Magnum straight pattern piece I had before. I ain't to worried about making big power, I just want 600 and my car race ready for May 24 & 25. My C6 is at a local transmission shop to get freshened and a short tail shaft conversion, I had planned to do it myself but after having some health issues In January and February put me on my ass for 8 weeks I lost 2 months of my winter. I run one of their converters so he wants to work a deal to put decals on my car. I gave him Frank's rollerizing info and the brake I got from you so Roy could have a look at it...Roy's kinda funny about how he does things so his plan might be different...LOL ...I'm busy as hell working every night in my shop with cash jobs and junking a 00 Expedition to pay for this deal. I also have 2 vehicles of my own in need of work badly, I'll be right down to the wire as usual to go racing. Dave - I had the intake I got from you powder coated silver, it came back yesterday looking great. Now I have to redrill it for the domi I bought from 1faststang.

Re: 472" build with A429's
I think you'll be happy , my car is a 84 hatch with a 472 with flat tops and scj heads with back cut intake valves only and a flat solid cam from scotty 260-268 637-648 lift and a crappy flairing c6, 3.90 gears,28x10 slicks and a used converter I got here that creeps at 2500 footbraking, a unported 4150 victor and a 950hp carb and its been 9.98 at 134 mph with a 1.37 60' , it is light tho at 2660 with driver.

And to get a idea what is possible , look at Melvyn's car (514fox87) , its a hatch heavier than mine at 466'' with ported A429's , dome pistons from Carl (14to1) solid roller from Lem , sv1 carb , Mafia intake, 3.89 gears , 28x10.5 slicks , a c4 at the time I think and he ran 9.20's all motor. Maybe he'll chime in , but that thing runs like a raped ape !

Re: 472" build with A429's
I'll be happy as long as it drops a decent amount of ET and runs good. Will have a fresh-rollerized C6 with a Merkl t-brake too. It's all fun for me, I only get to race 5 weekends a year at this point in my life. Consistency is what I'm after regardless of the ET. The weight should be about 2965lbs with the driver.

Re: 472" build with A429's
I just picked up my engine from the machine shop today. I'm still waiting on some top end gaskets, I started on the bottom end tonight. The crank balanced up with very little weight removed from what I can see. I decided not to deck it so it will be 11.5:1 as is. I have 3 of my Eagle H-beams that the Probe pins fit a little too tight for my liking so I'll drop them off at the machine shop tomorrow for a quick hone.

Re: 472" build with A429's
I was short on cash for a while. Finally have enough to finish it off and it should hit the dyno this week coming or the next. I'm working on a rusty old dodge diesel right now as my buddy's all enjoy the opening weekend at our local track. I hope to be there for the June race.

As it sits with the intake not bolted down. My pushrods are not here yet, should be all done this week and then I'll book the room of doom ASAP.
