how big valves in a460 heads with .080 overbore on stock block

anybody know right off hand

ive got 2.35 and 1.88s in mine. I think i need more intake valve but im not sure a bigger valve would help any (if it would even clear) due to the small bore shrouding the valve.

i was thinking a smaller intake valve would help the flow on a smaller bore, i see they make smaller valve stem size a460 heads also

i only had the 2.35 valves in mine. We flowed them on a few different bore sizes and the obviously the smaller bore choked the flow. I dynoed it w. an 1150.....we then tried larger carbs and picked up zero hp. Im convinced i hit a wall at 950hp (pumpgas) due to the small bore shouding the valve.
My plan is to get an aftermarket block in the near future and keep eveything else the same except the bore size and see how much it responds...

Mine are 2.30.I was told to stay with that size with 4.440 bore because of shrouding issues with A460 heads.

If it fits run it. That shrouded bore is only hurting part of the valve area. The 2.3 valve will move a bunch of air with the right work.

True, my old TFS with 2.30 flows 440's
