Well I took the plunge.....

...and asked Lauren to marry me Friday.

Dispite me being an ugly bassturd she said yes. Still waiting for the looming cloud of "holy sh!t you just f-ed up" to rain upon me but so far Im pretty excited about it.

Now Im trying to figure out how to get a cam lifters and springs instead of towels crock pots and dishes from friends and family.

congrats. i took the plunge early this year, and my wedding is in january. Forget about getting ANY gifts for you. They'll all be for the "house" I/E for her.
My word of advice is...........
Go somewhere tropical for the wedding... you save yourself a bunch of dough, (think of your cam and lifters) AND get your honeymoon in one shot. THe best part is for the most part you weed out the people who you DONT want to show up, but you have to invite.

Laurens aunt is married to Deann Stevens brother. Its a small world but we didnt figure this out until a couple weeks ago. I feel that if she ever gets pissy about me spending money on the truck Deann could send a friendly message on my behalf. Hopefully it works out.

Be careful, the resorts are wise to the wedding thing and will take any opportunity to hammer you with extra costs. (even still its still cheaper this way) We've been going through this, and it has been a definite fight with the resort we chose. I think we've got it settled now, but we have a lot of people coming (50) so we got power in numbers, so to speak but we limit ourselves on many things, such as where we can have our meal, and such. They always charge per person, over and above 6 people. So the less people you have the more you save.

we're going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. If you are too...Avoid having your wedding at sunset grande..
We are going to a different resort for our second week... for every 21 people that come you get 1300 ish dollars back so we got that twice, so free second week honeymoon for us. Make sure you are wise about stuff that the resorts offer, as the travel agents are not always all that honest and forthcoming.

good luck I have been married for 23 years well Dec. 7 will make 23 years been together over 24 years and wouldn't take anything for it 2 lovely girls yes they are tough times at times but if you both work together you can make it my best wishes to both of you
