What length and spring rate should I use on my BBF Futura? Mainly a strip car. What would I need for a street/strip SBF Fox body Mustang?

Thanks for the replies. Let me know what you have and how much use they have. I need to see what I have between my two sets. My buddy has the small block and has some 130 springs but those may be too soft for the street.

I base rear spring rate on four things:
1) First gear ration
2) rear weight/total weight
3) tire used
4) what shock is on the rear

My stuff is all super light compared to most recommendations but I'm also going to put you in a badass shock. Spring just holds the car up sitting still and after that it's in the way.

We use anything from #80-#110 on rear

I was under the impression he was looking for front rates.... We also use a 110 rate in the rear depending on weight and gear selection.

For bb's we typically stay in the 14-175 range.

rear will be most likely 100-110.  length is stroke dependent.  We like to run the longest shock we can fit.

As an example we just did a car with 12-150 fronts and 14-80's rear.  1.48 first gear light sb blower car. with an extremely low ride height.

I have a chassis Mustang with a BBF that runs 5.20s in the 1/8. it is burying the right rear slick into the ground, twisting the chassis, and pulling the left front tire about a foot or so off the ground. Wish I could post the video on here.

I just purchased a anti-roll for the car.

Anyway, the shocks are Koni and old. Looking at new shocks, any suggestions?

I can put a pretty trick valving into an Afco shock. We love the Afco design for most cars. I do like the Santhuffs for some rides but the Afco's fit a broader range with their valving designs.
