P51 or afr head upgrade
Looking at upgrading the top end of my 466, currently I have c8ve with cobra jet valves, ported, pro magnum rockers with jomar stud girdles, victor intake with 4150 pro systems alcohol carb, pistons are single eyebrow flat tops and heads have been milled .050 , cam is INT/EXH - Dur @ .050” Lift: 272°/277° RR: 1.73/1.73 Gross Lift: .690”/.698” LSA: 108° RPM: 4500 to 7750 Redline: 8250 solid roller , im only turning it 6800 right now, am looking at the afr 295 3823 head or the p51s, going to fly cut pistons for which ever head would work better for my application, going to build a stroker later on and looking for a goal of 8-850 down the road, I know stroker will need a different cam as well, which head would be better ,? they are both almost the same cost and from what I've e seen they both require the same exact things to swap over, ie push rods, girdles and so on. How much am I leaving on the table if a have a custom cam done to match the heads vs what I have?

Either head will perform well. Your cam is a bit large for your 466 with those duration numbers. Why not go with the stroker rotating assembly when using the new heads?

I would go with the P-51 head. They flow better than the AFR heads and you can make more horsepower with them.

Charlie I had contacted Philip at Oakley motorsports to discuss this with him , he was busy with some things and I havent heard from him yet, I purchased a 557 kit with the afr 315 heads with a bunch of other parts someone was getting rid of ,hopefully he will get back with me and I can figure out what else I need to get to my 8-850 mark

Re: P51 or afr head upgrade
IF you have already bought the 557 kit and AFR 315 heads, why are you here asking these questions, after the fact...?
Are you planning on re-selling them ...?

I originally was going to just buy a set of heads to start with but came across the deal I just bought that included a stroker Kit with the AFR heads already included

It will be easy to hit your 850 Hp goal with the AFR heads that you just purchased. Go ahead and build your 557 stroker with those parts.
My advice was based on IF you were looking to buy new heads, which of the two choices that you gave, would I choose.
