I'm thinking the spring broke on one of the last pulls and IMO didn't kill it that bad, they did see the motor going away on the last pull from what I remember.
Before you go screaming "Who in the hell are you" I was the one who pointed it out to the owner of the motor at the EMC during the tear down for the photo shoot. He didn't even notice it.

Not Cheap, it had an origional Boss 9 Block (=Big $$$$) and Holbrook was involved.
Based on what I have in my motor I'd guess in the $20-$25k range if you added up the value of everything, but I do know he had a few of the parts for a long time (like the Block) and the heads i'd guess where "Comp'd" by the company that casts them.

Amazing Mill
That is a great engine but $25K buys a house 'round these parts.
$75K buys a nice one.

Re: PHR 534 Hemi-Boss
Actually the spring broke on the very first dyno pull. We were up first right out of the box morning and the dyno parameters and rpm limiter were not even set on the #1 dyno, which meant no damping factor. The engine was drastically over revved, and the rpm bounced around all over the place, it was heavily detonated at low rpm and then at the end shut off too quick and it dieseled backwards at least 3 or 4 seconds which blew out the carb gaskets. So it was not only running on a broken valve spring but has some loss in piston ring sealing and who knows how bad the carbs got wacked.
