Does anybody have thru the floor subframe connectors in their mustang with a full interior? How does it affect the carpet? I am looking to use 2x2 tubing to make my connectors. Any pics or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a street car or a drag car? If its a darg car you should use a 2x3 that way if you have to go to a SFI cage you dont have to change it out down the road. With the carpet it should fit just find it only stick up a little in the floor in a few spots. hope this helps. Jason

Another option for SFI legal chassis for the subframe connectors/inner frame rails is 1.50" x .108" wall ms round tubing instead of 2 x 3 x .083" box tubing.

I read years ago that there is a special MIG wire needed to weld the sub-frame connectors to the fox sub-frames, could anyone refresh my memory??? scratch

E-70S-6 is the solid Mig wire to use for a race car/mild steel combo.

-1 is a generic wire where weld quality isn't a concern.
-2 is for welding rusty/dirty metal.
-3 is for single pass where weld quality isn't a concern.
-4 same as 3 but more silicon.
-5 includes aluminum & more silicon .
-6 clean metal, better penetration, & high impact resistance.
