88.8 miles. I am further south and from I-95, about 20 miles West. Cross looks like an interesting place what with Lake Moultrie and the Francis Marion Forrest being so close by. I'll have to check it out next time I'm up that way.

Engine Bay uncovered
Finally got around to taking the protective covering off the firewall and inner fender walls and here's the effect. I haven't even taken the time to clean things up or put the valve covers back on but just had to post this up

In the final turn
Heading for the final turn and hope I don't run out of fuel before the Daytona Turkey Rod Run. It's going to be close but I should make it. Cobralcon will be coming out of the interior shop Tuesday morning and that gives me the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday to finish up.
Here are a few pics of where things are today:
Door panels and Cobralcon emblem as well as back "seat" panel:
Next are the electrical cutouts complete with all the dust on the mufflers and exhaust and a cleaned up pic of the engine bay with the hoses and valve covers installed:

Almost ready for Daytona
Picked up Cobralcon today and took a few pics. Almost ready for the Turkey Run over Turkey Day! Interior came out really fine. Couldn't be more pleased.

Love the colored-in grill. I'm going to do that to mine, as well.
Looks awesome man

Looks good. What did you do to the grill and bumpers? Is it painted or powder coated? Either way it looks good. Like the wheels too!

Re: Cobralcon Build
The one area I used little if any help on was the color design. not because I'm a designer, I'm certainly NOT!, but because I went to a lot of custom and street rod shows and saw how "black" was used to make it more. Purple and ghosting kind of sank into my thought processes along with the memory that my grandmother's favorite color was lavender.
Once I determined I didn't want typical bright work I played with images and color on a computer program until I got to the bottom line. I took the bumpers, grille, headlight doors and tail light surrounds to a powder coater and looked at a lot of color until settling on the purple pearl. That was about 18 months before painting the car.
As soon as the car was painted and the bumpers installed 'orange peel' was visible and distracting in the bumpers. The painter then did a color match for the purple and refinished the bumpers with base/clear. That took care of the problem and is how I got to the bottom line. The grille and light surrounds did not have to be refinished and remain the original powder coating.
Hope that helps,
Hal R

Tha Tha Tha That all folks
Here are a few shots of Cobralcon at the Daytona Turkey Run over the weekend. She's 99% complete so this will be my last post concerning the build. Have a few minor things to wrap up but it sure is nice to have this one complete..........
If I can help anyone feel free to post up a question and I'll give you the best answer I can. It's now my turn to watch ya'lls progress.

Falconracer,
Thanks for the reply. I see you're in Lugoff which means you're physically closer to Cobralcon than I am at the moment. I've got it back in a paint shop in Lexington for some "finishing" touches. Will be picking it up tomorrow morning and then a few more things on the initial "punch list" and it should be ready to RIDE

With a Mustang II front suspension, you cut out the shock towers.
