Five lug fox body front brakes wanted

Wanted...five lug fox body front disk setup. What have ya'll got? Would really like aftermarket but will definitely use oem to keep costs down.

Hey Mike. Are you doing a conversion on your truck? If so, I used the front brakes from a Lincoln MK VII. They're 5-lug, and they're bigger than the std. Foxbody rotors as far as OEM stuff goes. And they're pretty reasonably priced too at O'reilly's or Carquest.

Excuse my ignorance, but will they fit my fox mustang spindles? Is the rotor and hub one piece?

Yep, my truck has 93 Mustang GT Spindles on it. Let me check, but I think the spindles have to be from the later Foxbody's for proper fit. I'll let ya know as soon as I find out.

Yes Mike, the spindles do have to be from the 87-93 years due to the little extra length of the spindles so they can clear the caliper mounts of the MK VII.

Thanks doug, what year MK VII are we talkin?

I think they were the same as the later Fox's. 87-93... Keep in mind too though, I put a complete Foxbody front suspension on the Banana. I'm not sure how everything will work if you're just trying to do a brake swap.

for a cheap alterantive i used some rotors from autozone ask for 1986 mustang svo 4cylinder front brakes the are the one piece direct bolt on to the 87-93 front v8 spindles and are 5 lugs and are affordable.

Mike the MK VII are what is on my 86. I had to get the spindles to make it work................ Worked good.

I always thought that they were all(mustangs) 4 lug until 94

SVO's were 5 lung and are not exactly the same as the 87-93 V8 stuff.

79-86 & 87-93 4 cyl cars - all use the same rotors & spindles (exc. SVO which had unique spindles and brake calipers) 5 lug Ranger rotors can be used as a retrofit for 5 lug wheels.

87-93 V8 models had larger rotors, different spindles AND struts. The spindles have a thinner mounting flange for the strut. Lincoln Mark VII 5 lug rotors can be used to convert to 5 lug.

another super cheap way , is to use ford ranger rotors, i used them on my stang, it ran 11.40's at 121 at stopped fine
