08 F350 problem 4x4

A tech on my local forum posted this and I wanted to see if anyone here has seen this.

cust brought this into our shop was going down the road about 65 and heard a hell of a noise and this is the outcome really dont know wtf happened. that is the front driveshaft you see bent like hell. this is about the 3rd one ive seen do this. not pictured but the pinion flange is busted, oil pan busted, transmission case took a beating, swing bearing, and other stuff haha.

i should have taken pics of the hub that engauges the 4 low, it was chewed up, looked like it was trying to go into 4 low the way it was chewed up, but its electric shift and pcm controled, so dont know how that could have happened.

UNLOCK THE DAMN HUBS!!!!!!

.........................well on the 4 or 5 that I have seen do it that was the case, but they were Superdutys with the manual hubs. Lazy ass farmer (or oilfield hand) leaves um locked in all the time and decides to go 80 down the highway......................makes a hell of a mess.

I'll bet money you go check and they are in the "locked" position.

.................and to add, the tf case exploded and took the other stuff out with it. The tranny case may be cracked as well.

I thought you could leave them locked? Not that I do. That's what sweet about the ESOF, when it works.

changed 2 in the last month ( but they were chity`s) checked the hubs both were locked in Laughing
