The Banana Returns..... UPDATE!!
THE NUCLEAR BANANA!!!!!!!
First and foremost, I need to make a very broad point , that Justin Reese (reeseracing23) is a very stand up guy. He had an opportunity to sell the Banana to another guy in South Dakota. He was gracious enough to call me a couple weeks ago and ask if I wanted it back and to give me 1st dibs. That my friends is a very stand up thing to do in my book. When I met him the day before yesterday to pick it back up, he asked if I missed it. I said "it wasn't too bad, until I saw it coming around the corner on the trailer and I realized just how cool it really was." Thank you Justin, you're tops in my book.
Here's a few pics a guy emailed me last week from Lost Creek Raceway, and the last one is from the race I put on last Sept.:
It's good to open the garage door and see the 'ol Banana sittin' in the stall.
However, now that I sold my engine/trans. Now I get to unleash my new plans. "Might" not be racing this summer, but next year for sure. It's gonna be a "Super Freak"!! That's for sure. More to come.

Do the words, "With a Vengence" sound familiar?

No 4.600" crank though. This is on some sort of a budget.

Re: The Banana Returns..... UPDATE!!
There will be plenty of pics. I'm gonna start the mock-up of the new engine this weekend, If the weather holds. I have to have my door open to run the engine hoist and such. The engine doesn't sit at true center, so I need to make sure the new heads will clear the strut plates on the passenger side, due to the factory offset.

Re: The Banana Returns..... UPDATE!!
Thanks for all the compliments and suggestions. I think I'm gonna keep it simple and stay with the 4.500 deal. I'm thinkin' with what I have planned, this thing's gonna rock it anyway. Plus, I've talked with alot of other guys that have bought the Ohio Crankshaft stuff with less than stellar results. Meaning, they've needed ALOT of work to make them usable. A bit more than the Scat units that my crank guy uses. Plus, if (forbid) anything goes awry, the parts are a little less morphodtitic. A friend of mine told me, since mine won't be running for this year, that I could borrow his extra engine and run it if I want to try and race this year. It's a 604 A-headed deal. All I need to do is re-assemble it, and freshen up his 598 that he's currently running. I'm tellin' ya what. The 'ol Banana got it done pretty good with the 521 SCJ headed plant. I wouldn't want to be any of the Chevy boys when I show up with 600" of BBF between the fenders.
Either way, it's gonna be a slow progression to the track IF I make it this year. But I'll keep ya'll posted as progress resumes.
