engine cutting out under load

I have a 460 bored 30 in a pulling truck it sounds great off the line but when getting to higher rpms and more pull it starts to cut out and throwing flames out exhaust i changed fuel pump lines tank and carb still does it i am thinking electrical it has a msd ignition in it any suggestions thanks

Sound like it might be floating the valves at what rpm does it start

it varies on rpms it has happend at 5000 to 6400

Whats done to the engine?

What Ignition?

couple more things to check unhook the tach if you have on I have had SUN TACH make my mustang bust up up rpms,also check your coil it may be braking down in high rs

this engine is bored 60 over heads all redone by performance shop with valve springs to match cam been balanced has full msd ignition with 6al box and blaster coil 850 barry grant carb with mods for pulling all half inch gas lines with fuel log and high pressure pump with regulator if need more info let me know thanks

it has msd distibutor if thats what ur asking

excessive plug gap can also contribute to the symptoms.

Remove any rev limiter pills too. Sometimes they malfunction.

I had this happen to me last year with my Digital 6 box, and it was a combination of several things. Make sure you have the distributor wires hooked up correctly on the 6 box, the Ford dizzy is backwards for polarity, and then try a new or different coil.
