bbf c-head ideas

Post  badcoupe on December 21st 2011, 8:15 pm

ive been thinking real hard at 2013-2014 season taking some time off to build one bad ass C-headed deal

now ive thought about the turbo deal but to be honest its just out of my leauge - so what would you build ?

600 cubes
632 ?
or de stroke and turn the beast 9000 rpm ?

now be honest its a small tire car @ 3350 #,s

there are to many chevys building huge power and the fords are just not there -so im gonna take 2 years off and build a kiler piece -just not sure whats better ,i know ill need titanium valves and aluminum rods and big compression and cam

so tell me what you guys think cheers i would like 1200+ and 2 carbs are very doable if needed scratch

It's "doable" but, I see no reason to turn it 9,000 rpm.

This is a 645" C460 engine with one 1450 QFX and the cast frpp 1x4 manifold.

I don't see a reason to have titanium Valves at 7200 rpm then is this correct

I'd put in ti. intake valves for sure. A tunnell ram and 2 carbs will operate higher and make more power.

The question should be, "how much power can it make", not whether or not it flows the best.

Flow is one small part of an engine equation and is important, but don't get hung up on flow numbers. Just look at what Blake did with his P head deal, the flow numbers don't add up to the hp it made. Have it built by someone who has the experience with these engines, because no matter how good you percieve yourself as a mechanic, unless you have experience on a daily basis with these engines, you are going to just be throwing money into the wind and not getting what you could. You would be surprised at how reasonable the labor is vs. the parts required for a build like this. Cool
