progressive nos controller

we borrowed a progressive controller installed it etc.we didnt have the instructons and couldnt figure out why it was resetting it's self when testing.the motor was not running and the nos was not turned on when testing fuel solinoids would chatter as the controller was resetting it self.we went back through all of the wireing and grounds etc no help.

we went to the track asked friend that verry knoledgeable about nos and the controller.he said that it needed to be ground on the chassie and the intake.he said that the ignition wires were interfeering with the controller.so we wired in a second ground but to no avale.

my thinking was if it was causeing a problem befor we started the car,what did the ignition wires have to do with it?i am thinking the unit is bad?

after looking at the instructions it was suppose to be grounded to the battery.something else that stands out is the amount of time the controller is off and on once started.
