Bad news

I've been having a pain in my left calf for most of the week, felt like I pulled a muscle so I didn't give it much thought and went to work. Yesterday the pain increased and my lower leg swelled up. I went to urgent care this afternoon and they sent me to the hospital for an ultra sound, turns out I have a large blood clot. They gave me a hard time for waiting so long to come but I thought it was just another daily ache. They put me on blood thinners and told me no work for a week. I'm pretty worried, apparently if this thing lets go it could kill me. I guess the moral is pay attention to your body, if it hurts there's something wrong, get it checked out.

Blood clots are not something to take lightly. I have a friend that has had trouble with them for years. He got the $15,000 shot to dissolve one this last fall. They told him that he was very lucky. If he wouldn't have made it to the hospital when he did, he would have been going to his own funeral.

Man that sucks, take it easy & get better.

I used to "tough it out" and "be a man", BULL$H!t , get a checkup once a year and don't be shy about calling the doctor if something is out of the ordinary. Good Luck and do what the doctor says

Well I saw the doctor yesterday and he said I can go back to work. Gonna be on blood thinners for 6 months with weekly visits to check my levels. My leg feels much better but what a pain in the ass.

I thought the pain was in your calf,,,,, sorry.
