head girdle?

Do u need run head girdles on a 466 street motor with scj heads on it or is it over kill?

It's not always necessary, but the peace of mind from a stable valvetrain is worth it IMO. They don't cost much, and can regain some hp/tq lost to valvetrain flex.

Call Lem and get a Jomar, hands down the best out there.

I had an experience in the past with a BBC that broke a rocker stud pedestal. As part of that engine I included a Jomar rocker stud support ("girdle"). Although the valve train was a bit out of adjustment .. 
.. the Jomar part assisted in less damage that would have been realized without the Jomar part. I think as Schmitty replied, the addition of a rocker stud support is a bit of insurance, we continue to use the Jomar part, with good results. Valve lash adjustment will be a small learning curve and take a bit of patience, although well worth it in my book!
