What is wrong with these knuckleheads with putting there goofy brand X motors in damn near every ford product you can think of. Don't they know anybody that knows how to build a ford engine in there areas? And don't give me any of that shit that they are so cheap to build compared to a ford either as most of the ones I saw were VERY high buck engines. I have said this before the cheapest to build up to 450 hp is the bbf 385 series. After that to 750 it is probably the bbc but not by much, after that it is a wash. 1200 or so hp is going to cost 20,000.00 or so regardless of what you build or have built for you. A coyote crate engine is 420 hp as it comes from ford and is very accepting for a blower as it comes from ford for up to 1000hp they say. The small block ford blocks are very close to the same cost as the brand X when you get to the Dart ones and the others. And heads are a wash too. I am so damn pissed tonight I can hardly think. Am I missing something here ? Come on guys tell me. Jay Brown's Galaxy as heavy as it is went very well and won. And we know that was with a cammer which is a rare and I might add expensive engine, but it went like crazy in that heavy unaerodynamic Galaxy. Am I remembering right that it made about 900 hp? That ain't too hard to do with a 385 series engine for less than 15,000.00. And that's with the same type cylinder heads as the stockers. Think Kasse P 51's. They are about 1600.00 a pair bare then the valves are the same price as the brand  X stuff. You know what I am getting at. I almost had a crappy feeling in my stomach after reading all this brand X bullshit. I guess the only thing I will say is that they do go out there and compete with their stuff.Sad

Hot Rod has been PRO chevy since day 1, its sister rag is Super Chevy.... they try, but even in pro mopar or ford articles there is always a dig where a chevy could have done it better.

Yeah I read it on the plane yesterday. Out of the whole article I think there were 2 Ford in a Fords. WTF? I was pretty pissed too. There were some classes that only had a couple cars in them but they said they sold out in 8 hours; I didn't get that. Regardless it was a big disappointment. I thought they should just change the name to Chevy drag week. Hell there was even a bowtie Mopar in there.

# deleated the engine, its the original 265 cu in V found in the early corvette.. GM forgot to put in an oil filter provision.

I dont blame you for being pissed....I hate that crap too. Even 35+ yrs ago I hated it. Want a chevy engine put it in a chevy vehicle. I will never accept "it could be worse" logic.  Nothing worse as far as Im concerned.

Hard core Ford since I was a kid.

The reason is that the aftermarket has been promoting this stuff for the past 20 or so years and if you believe the line from that movie, "if you build it , they will come", then you have to look no further to see where all that mindset originates.

Sad really that the people trying to be in this realm of life are mostly just a bunch of sheep.

Of course there is a lot of different stuff around these parts and the most interesting crossbreeds I have seen recently is a Cleveland engine in a Corvette and a Mopar, cross ram, max wedge in a 68 Camaro.

The magazines probably don't do articles on these type vehicles is because those magazines are mostly about "what shows" and these two cars were not pristine; though certainly done neatly and presentable.

Think about it. Look who we have as President for a second term. Somebody said he was good, just like a Chevy motor. Hot Rod is like NBC, just leading the followers or as a previous poster mentioned "sheepaple", who are not smart enough to know better. LS motors are the hot ticket now, and the new SBC that the market is geared for. The third Gen. LT1 will be next probably?

I am with you dfree too. I wish Ford would have used a single bell hosing for all V8's though, and made parts interchangeability a little easier. If they would have made one 351 instead of 3, might have helped. I would go for a mid deck height Cleveland that could go to 400ci, with the same intake, in 2V and 4V heads, with 6" rods. Even better if they did a Clevor (Windsor Block, Clevland Heads) type engine, in the fist place who knows if they would not be the choice of swappers today. I think the SBC just got to much of a head start on the 351 Fords, and I too hate to see a Chevy engine, in a Ford vechicle.
