Pistons are not the same, only part that's the same is the rods at 6.605
460 used a 3.85 stroke crank and a 429 uses a 3.59.... But they both share the same journal sizes.
And just for in info internal balanced factory cranks will not fit in the late model D9 blocks, but the later external balance cranks will fit in the early blocks

To put a 460 crank in a 429 block, you can use the 460 crank, the rods are the same, and 460 pistons. The bore is the same.

Piston compression height for stock 429 pistons is 1.89 for stock 460 1.76. Hope this helps.
