so what would be a safe compression ratio with the c-heads ? ive noticed a lot of builds in the 15-16comp range ...do these heads have a fine line of tuning with the valve angles and no cant.

also would the cnc program change on these heads if the client wants a nos engine compared to an N/A motor ?

I run 2 C460 headed motors my 572 is 15.59 -1 and my 600 is 16.42 -1 , the tuning window is a little tighter on the 600 than the 572 but then again I've only burn 4 pistons in 200 runs and thats only because I like to walk up to the end and hang my toes over once in a while!!!

on the CNC program ,it's Charlies , only I milled the heads some after I got them !! 14.9 - 1 is alittle better as I think you could spray 4 -300hp kits ,then my 600 at 16.42-1 I might try the 3rd kit at the last race of the season but the tuning window will be tight and the pistons could leak out the header pipes !!!

IMHO I would have the compression around 14:1 max. Not saying you can not run more compression with NOS, because there are plenty of people out there running 15:1 or 16:1+ or more compression ratios with nitrous. Like has been said as you increase the compression ratio the tuning window gets tighter & tighter. I just think that once you get over 14:1, it is a case of dimensioning returns compared to the tuning issues which may occur especially if you are going to be running a lot of nitrous. In fact I have spoke to several very good nitrous tuners & the trend these day seems to run a little lower compression ratio say even down to 13.5:1 A friend of mine has a pro mod type of car & has run in the 4teens in the eight mile. Over the past few years he has been gradually lowering his compression & I think he is running approx. 13.5 now & he says it has not hurt the performance plus it gives him more room for error in his nitrous tuning. You might also talk to Greg Creech. He is a member on 460.com website. Not sure he is a member on this website. I believe he is running an approx. 600 cube nitrous engine with the C-460 heads. Good luck with it.
