So whats everyones every day carry?

I just rather a bad guy not know my plans for him until it comes time for him to know.

If I were going to rob a store and a man was in there open carrying, it might scare me off, but if I was a crack head and desperate I would probably sneak up behind him and take him out and then go on with the robbery.

With it in the open , he knows your intent but you don't know his.................

I don't bother me to see a gun in the open, it's kind of like a snake, if I can see it it don't bother me. The one I don't see is my problem..............

Which comes back to situational awareness.

Picked up a little boat / shed / need quick money I can sell gun today.

Might get a lock box for the car to and leave it in there.

In Michigan they have a few really crazy gun laws about where and when things can be done like "open carry" of a pistol is legal in a school or theater ONLY if you have a Concealed Pistol Permit but, the pistol can not be concealed ...  almost all the school officials will call the police when this is done and then the person carrying the pistol gets arrested for "intentional incitement conduct" or something of the sort; (a nuisance arrest for sure).
So, to avoid this one is supposed to notify the school or theater being entered so, they can prepare; just exactly what are they going to do to prepare...?

The law was written the way it was in order to allow a uniformed policeman entrance without the need to qualify as police business.- but, the policeman part is not in the written law.

Kimber ultra carry .45 here on a CC permit.  Always carried before the permit as well. Love that good old .45 ACP stopping power.  Throwing lead baseballs at 830 fps. Big crime for a small town out here. Wild freaking west.
