I've got a customer that has been getting spanked in his local 1/8 mile class..His class rules are simple run what you brung..Hope you have enough...No weight limits, no ci limits, or Power adder limits. The guy he's trying to beat is running 4.99 1/8 mile consistenly. My customer is running a 3000lb 1990 coupe with a glide and stock style suspension...He first contacted me about a max effort 440ci sbf...Long story short $20K and pushing it to the ragged edge to get 1000FWHP...So my other suggestion was a BBF. Maybe a 13:1 598ci with or without the bottle? What would be the heads of choice, intake, and rotating assembly to reach say 1200FWHP. Oh it would be based off the Eliminator Ultra Siamesed bore block.
Does this sound like a good combo?

Eliminator Ultra block 4.600" bore
Scat forged 4.5" stroke
Oliver billet 6.7" rods
JE custom pistons with lowered ring lands 1.35" CH
Hellfire rings
Clevite bearings
60mm solid roller
Ported A460 18 bolt 83cc chambers and port matched A460 dominator intake

Give me some feed back guys. Thanks..Oh and who should do the port work..Thanks

I don't believe you will achieve 1200 fwhp with the A heads, at least not N/A. You are going to need C heads as a minimum, Profilers would be better. Are you thinking a single dommy or two dommies on a T-ram? I'm thinking two would get you there easier, not saying it can't be done with one, but if there are no limitations, I'd go with the two. As far as port work, Charlie Evans is close to you, I'd contact him. He did a great job on my C heads...

Not that I'm aware of..He told me he can run any engine setup, any power adder, any tire, as long as its stock suspension...basically its an open class.

Thanks guys I'll call him probably tomorrow. I want to make sure the guy has the green stuff before I start bothering others during business hours. How do the C heads generally run..Where can I get some info..or the Profilers? As for the intake setup, I'm open to whatever you suggest. Thanks Ya'll have any comments or remarks on the bottom end????

You need to look at some of the NMRA cars on the stock suspension rules.... there are some tricks Its a stock 4 link car right?...... you take it from thier...... and that 3000#'s is way porky for the game.........

As far a hp and power adders their are alot of ways to get their..... Work on the Chassis and Weight First

From what he has implied to me...his current combo is doing 5.30 to 5.50 but its pegged. He said he has more ballast to take from the car to drop it to 2800 driver included..and yeah it's the factory style 4 link with full UPR suspension front and rear...

What did Lem and Charlie get for HP with Phillip Oakley's A head motor? I was thinking it was close to 1200, then add a little bottle to it and you are there. Cheaper than a full boogie C head deal IMHO.
