motor is a solid roller 11:1 557 as follows

-.080 over D1VE block
-cast SCAT 4.5 stroke crank
-scat H-beam 6.8 rods
-venolia forged pistons
-comp xr 292r solid roller cam 254/260 @.050 .671/.678 on the lift 110 lobe seperation (need more cam i know)
-comp roller lifters with the pressurized roller
-Blue Thunder heads with raised ford port, ported and polished 364 intake 242 exhaust flow @.700
-crane gold roller lifters with jomar stud girdle
-intake
-pro-systems 1150 dominator

trying to figure out how hard i want to spin this thing so far i've only had it to 6200 but it seems like its good for more the way it pulls, that and i need to figure out what gear to put in the rear end also

thanks
rick

Is that mainly because of the cast crank, or?

Well, IMO, w/your build there's no reason to wind it any further.Just because the motor might wind to the moon, doesn't mean it's making power up there. Someone else might disagree.
Tweety's A head deal has 4bolt block, steel rods, steel crank, and 816 lift roller. But, I will probably shift it at around 6800 Smile

I'd bet the power is heading south at just above 6000 RPM with that small of a camshaft in that large of an engine.

Rick that is almost identical to my old build, except for the cam, mine was266/272 @.050, 716/716 lift with1088 lobe seperation, I shifted it at 6200, it pulled to about 6500, but I didn't like to rip it, it ran a steady low 615-6.20 in 1/8th mile/ I have 14-32-15 slicks, I was running 430 gears, found out from Blake, I should have been running 456, soooo, when you want to trade Rick. Very Happy

i plan on taking care of the cam thing next winter when i pull the motor for a freshen up, unless of course i break something in between, thanks for the inputs, i think i'll try to keep it to 6500 or below

-haven't actually had the 3rd member built yet i'm still swallowing the price tag of having my new housing and axles built Shocked
