The spring in the advance can will hold it steady if ya want to just get it running. Not sure about what would happen at high rpms. Sometimes the vac hook-up for the advance is on the throttle plate.

What kind of distributor are you using?
Is it properly curved?
You can hook vacuum advance to manifold vacuum for better idle and part throttle driveability on the street. I prefer ported however with a large lumpy cam sometimes manifold vacuum will provide a better idle...

Cool

A properly curved dura spark dizzy is perfectly adequate for your application. Streetable needs vacuum advance even if your only avenue at this point is to hook it to manifold vacuum.

Since the vacuum advance mechanism is tailored for egr the vacuum advance needs adjustment as well to work in a performance app.

If you have questions about getting a dizzy recurved etc telephone us...

Very Happy
