as per C. Evans


engine # 5 is an all alum. block 598 CID engine with TFS A-460 18 bolt heads and a TFS single plane intake manifold. Complete with carb, oil, flexplate, internal Kaase oil pump, vacuum pump but no starter,,,,it weighs 556 lbs.

My un-machined A96 is 160lbs
probably 115-120lbs @ 4.600

This is very interesting. I had always been told the Fords were heavier than chevies but maybe that isn't true. Lately I'm playing with LS motors and turbo's. here's a surprise, an Iron LS block is about as heavy as an Iron BBF. the complete engine is Lighter I think but even an alum LS block isn't much lighter than alum BBF block.

588 10.3 deck aluminum CC block, billet crank, aluminum rods, 18 bolt A460 heads, WW rockers, TFS single plane intake, 7 quart steel pan full of oil, Fogger with trash can noids, mid plate, motor plate, flywheel, wet sump with moroso external oil pump, timing belt drive, distributor, csr electric water pump, aerospace vacuum pump. 539lbs

Idt ultra block 598ci, 4.60bore, 4.5 crank, trickflow A460 heads and single carb intake, pro systems carb, electric water pump, danny bee belt drive, msd crank shaft trigger and gz pump= 663lbs. power glide with 9in converter and shield and jw bell=166lbs. both together=829.
